Join the Dark Side: Dark Mode and Other Release Letter Enhancements

Published
Last year, we introduced an all new look and feel to the release and hot fix letter. We overhauled the user interface, added navigation to the left side of the page, expanded the ability to print the entire page or specific products, and created an archive button to quickly pull up a past release within a new modal.

However, we’re not done making the letter as user friendly as possible. Along with the brand-new year, we’ve also added some new features to really let you customize your release letter experience.

It’s time to embrace your inner Sith Lord as we’ve finally added a brand-new Dark Theme to the release letter. Check it out if you that want to reduce potential things like screen glare as well as bright whites in the standard Light Theme (aka Jedi Light Side).
To enable this feature, select this button right here:

When enabled, the page replaces the lighter colors with darker greys and blacks. The release letter now looks like this:

However, we didn’t stop at simply adding a Sith dark theme. This month also brought the ability to save and bookmark older release notes for easy access. Use the Recent drop-down field right here:

Selecting a date opens an archived version of that specific release letter in a new browser tab instead of a modal window over the current page. This change allows you to bookmark this specific release page just like you would with a normal website URL.

Finally, we’ve been working behind the scenes to fine-tune the page’s compatibility with higher resolution as well as mobile screen sizes. Whether you’re reading our letters on 4K resolution monitors or taking us on the go, we’ve got you covered.

We hope these updates really help your enjoyment and ease of use for our weekly release letter. We’re constantly looking to improve our processes for you so if there’s something on your wish list, let us know in the comments below!

Thanks for stopping by this week and I do hope you’ll join me next Tuesday when we delve into a brand-new video series we just released this year. See you then everyone!
