End of School Year Checkup: ON API

Published

With the school year quickly approaching its end, there are certain procedures that need to be done as well. Today, we’re taking a look at ON API.

Just like at the start of the educational year, schools will likely have at least a few procedures to work through before the summer months arrive in full. One such procedure involves the ON API authentication tokens.

Remember to check the expiration date for authentication tokens for integrations and applications that use ON API. It’s worth noting that Tokens (key and secret) expire after 365 days. Each year, you must generate a new token to replace the expired one.

Remember to copy the authentication token Key and a Secret. Then save it to a secure location so you can provide it to the application or partner. For security purposes, this information will not be visible after you save and return to the list. If you lose your copy, you’ll need to regenerate tokens with new information. We recommend you update your school’s “Policies and procedures” guide to include the latest information. Share the new token with the application for the upcoming school year.
