This release of Financial Edge NXT includes several new features and enhancements, including the general availability Electronic funds transfers (EFTs)!

EFTs allow you to exchange money electronically instead of using check or wire transfers. In Financial Edge NXT, you can pay invoices electronically using EFT files.

We also added the ability to generate a prenote authorization file, which is an electronic test record sent to a bank to ensure correct transmission of information, such as coding, amounts, and account numbers. Banks often require a prenote authorization file before accepting EFTs.

If your bank requires a prenote authorization file, you can generate it from the bank account record under Pay Invoices. For more information, see Download EFT File.

Fixed assets enhancements
If you have rights to depreciate assets, you can now depreciate one asset record at a time, instead of all assets at once. For more information, see Calculate depreciation.

Expense management
We made the following enhancements for expense management approvers and users:
  • Invoice request approvers can now view the invoice due date on invoice requests.
  • Approvers can also now view the invoice number on both invoice requests and charges.
  • The Invoice number field on invoice requests now auto-populates with the invoice number. Previously, this field auto-populated with the credit card number, making it difficult to determine if the invoice was created from a charge or invoice request.
Statistical Unit Creator Excel add-in
The Statistical Unit Creator add-in is an application built by Blackbaud and is available in Microsoft's Office Store. You can use this to enter data in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet which you can then submit as new unit counts to Financial Edge NXT

This integration enables flexible data entry (in bulk) and saves time, especially when entering similar data. For more information, see Statistical Unit Creator Excel Add-In.

Receivables (EAP)
Receivables is currently in our Early Adopter Program (EAP) Throughout the EAP, we will continue to enhance and improve it in preparation for general availability. If you're a part of the EAP,  you can now run the Aged Accounts Receivable Report for Reconciliation.
