What’s New
We recently released several new features in Financial Edge NXT web view!

Calculation depreciation filters. To provide more control over Fixed asset depreciation calculation, you can now add filters directly from the Calculation settings screen in web view. Filters include, Assets, Classes, Locations, Departments, and Asset custom fields.

Edit account structure. Under General ledger Settings, you can now edit the account structure, which can include changing the segment order, adding new segments, or increasing segment length.

Add and manage purchase order receipts. For some of you, you can now add and manage purchase order receipts from Financial Edge NXT. When you create a receipt for a purchase order, you automatically generate the entries required to reverse encumbrance transactions posted from a purchase order. A receipt also acts as a template you can use for creating invoices for items you have received.

To view purchase order receipts, navigate to Payables, Receipts. From the purchase order record, receipts info also displays from the Receipts tile and the Receipts tab at the top of the purchase order record.

Import Invoices. To save you time around data entry, you will soon import Payables invoices in web view.

NOTE: This first iteration will support adding invoice records through import. Look for the ability to add and edit invoice records in bulk, including 1099 distributions, in a future release.

Fixed Assets Business Rules. You can now manage Transaction business rules for Fixed Assets in web view. Business rules help you customize standard procedures and requirements. We're releasing these updates in waves. Some of you already see these changes, and some will see these updates in an upcoming wave.

What’s Next
We are currently working on several features and enhancements for Financial Edge NXT web view. Here are some of the updates you will see in upcoming releases:

Electronic signatures — You will soon manage electronic signatures in web view. Electronic signatures are images you can use on checks, purchase orders, and receipts.

Fixed Assets Business Rules — You will soon manage all Fixed Assets business rules in web view. Business rules help you customize standard procedures and requirements.

Treasury — We’re introducing updates to Treasury's deposits and Miscellaneous (Misc.) Payments in Financial Edge NXT in the coming weeks. Misc. Payments replaces Cash Receipts in the database view, so you'll no longer have access to those records there. Bank accounts, credit card accounts, and Treasury reports are not impacted by these changes and customers with Accounts Receivable are not part of this release.

Bank Feed (Yodlee) — We are upgrading our Yodlee/Fastlink APIs in Financial Edge NXT to improve performance and offer a better user experience. This upgrade also supports open banking.

Total Web Solution Journey

As Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT shifts to a total web solution, we're moving the following features from database view exclusively to web view over the next several months:

NOTE: To keep you informed of upcoming changes, we will periodically display a Review total web solution features screen when you log in to Financial Edge NXT listing upcoming features that are moving to web view.

Tax Season Resources
As the year comes to an end, Blackbaud knows that Tax Season is just around the corner. This is a busy time for your organization, and we are here to share some resources to help you prepare for success!

• Blackbaud has created a dedicated resource that outlines the steps involved with preparing for tax season. Our Financial Edge NXT End of Year & Tax Resources site will guide you through the steps for a smooth 1099 filing.
• Blackbaud will host a series of Q&A sessions for tax season preparation. The first session will be on December 13th, 2:00 P.M. EST. Register today for this informative Tax Season session.
• There is a new Aatrix requirement for individual vendors, requiring first and last names. We have documented this change and the steps required to update your vendors in this KB article.

• Community Announcements. The Community is a great way to stay informed. Subscribe to Financial Edge NXT Community Announcements by clicking on the "Subscribe" link at the top of this blog. You can then select how often you want to receive update notifications.
• Release Updates. Check out What's Recent, What's New, and What's Next to get all the details on prior, current, and future releases. To help keep you up to date on the most recent developments, What's New automatically opens when you log in to the web view.
• In-Product Help. Help documentation throughout Financial Edge NXT is context-sensitive. So, no matter where you are in the solution, you can click the bright green question mark at the top right of your screen to get help for that feature.
• Product Update Briefings (PUB). Check out the most recent Financial Edge NXT PUB, now on demand, to hear from our product management team directly on the latest and upcoming development for Financial Edge NXT! Also, if your organization processes payments through Blackbaud solutions, check out the most recent Payment Services PUB. Our product management team walks you through recently integrated payment features — such as Complete Cover™ and donor cover, Credit Card Updater enhancements, optimized fraud settings, and PayPal for online forms — and gives you a glimpse of the exciting developments on the horizon.
