Peculiar Query request, Help!

Hi everyone!

I'm new to Raiser's Edge NXT (or any RE for that matter). I'm going to be taking the 4-day boot camp class next week so I'm sure I'll be much more on top of things after, but for now I'm hoping someone has an idea for this query. My director asked if I could find out "Of the donors in the last 6 weeks, who had been lapsed (not donated in at least a year). Basically they're trying to better target correspondence and find out how to maintain the donors that had lapsed but came back due to the Covid appeal.

I appreciate any help! I'm a complete newbie--I've been in this position just about a week.

Thank you!

  • Hi Kelli, welcome to the community :)

There's probably as many different ways of doing this as there are RE users, but you might find the summary fields useful (near the bottom of a constituent query).

I've done an example below (excuse the UK date and currency formats!) which specifies that constituents must have given at least one gift since 19th March 2020, have not given any gifts in the year beforehand, but have given a gift before that.

You could also do it by writing separate queries for those groups and then merging them all together, but personally I prefer this method since you have everything in one query rather than spread across several.
  • Alan,

Thank you so much! I'm excited to be on this end, coming from direct service. This helped me out immensely! Have a wonderful weekend and I hope all is well for you!
