Filters don't work

Hi All,


As we are getting started on our summer billing for Fall I wondering about a few  issues that I have noticed:


When using people finder in Billing Management, I can't filter for student and get just the students.  So if I am typing "Smith"  I get EVERY SINGLE Smith in the system.  While I understand that it is a common name and may run into a lot of students who are Smith, I certainly don't need every parent, relationship, faculty or staff who was in Blackbaud.  


For my billing year I have made a few things inactive (billing items, financial aid items)  however they are still showing when I am trying to enter the items in the billing setup.  We looked to setting fees based on classification as a simplification of the billing items, although it isn't effective when all of the previous items, which were labeled inactive for this billing year, come up in the list of options to choose from while entering charges.


I am wondering if anyone else noticed any of these things as well.
