RE NXT: Work Center won't remove old constituents

We have been using Work Center to manage Advements team member's portfolios. We have had a few people either pass away, asked to be removed from said portfolio, etc. However when I go in and mark the solicitor as "ended," they still remain on that portfolio's list. Is there another way to remove people off of the portfolio lists than just ending the solicitor's relationship with said constituent?

When you say 'mark as ended' are you putting an end date on the solicitor assignment relationship? Or what are you marking?

That's exactly what we do! Unfortunately, that person will still appear on the solicitor's portfolio list. Is there something that I am doing wrong or is there another way to remove constituents?

The solicitor assignment relationship that JoAnn mentions here is on each person's record. It sounds like you are just marking the solicitor as no longer being a solicitor?

If Person A is assigned to be Person's B's solicitor, there's actually a Relationship that is setup. Entering an end date in that Relationship should do what you're looking for.

Have been shut out of RE due to the 'global issue' but can get in now.

If you are looking at the 'stop assignment' in webview, that doesn't remove from a portfolio. As Heather MacKenzie‍ said, putting an end date to relationship should remove from the portfolio. It may need to be done in db view and it make take a few minutes to appear in webview.

  • I have the same issue. And it is the same in database view as well. I have an end date for a solicitor and a new solicitor is assigned (with a begin date) but the queries pull the old solicitor. The only way I've been able to get the correct results is by adding to the filter criteria "Assigned Solicitor Date To = <blank>". So annoying.
  • I created a new solicitor type of Former ............ and it works fine. Not ideal but it does work.
  • I generally change the current type to a former version of itself (such as prospect manager - former) AND add the end date. Initially, NXT didn't pay attention to solicitor type (I think) but dates did matter? Or the reverse - I can't remember now. But it is helpful to be able to have options of date ranges and types. Date ranges help with assigning gift solicitors and generally identifying the period during which a person was assigned. But type allows for quicker queries, like finding someone who used to have an active solicitor but doesn't anymore.
