Script/record operation to 'remove/delete all data' about a supporter?

Dear all,

Do any of you have an operation (e.g., a record operation), which can be used if a supporter requests that we 'delete all data' about them, but can't just delete their record because it contains financial information? We presently do this manually, by anonymising the name, removing contact details, checking Documentation and Interactions for anything relevant and either deleting or anonymising them, anonymising Revenue/Accounts information and credit cardholder name fields.

If you don't have an easy technical operation to do this, what do you manually?

I built out a script for our organization to handle these sorts of requests that is powered based on a specific attribute type on record. This script runs daily, identifies records with this attribute and will overwrites all name information with “[REDACTED]” in the CONSTITUENT table and the BATCHCONSTITUENTUPDATE table. It then deletes all references to records from batches, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and any references in the audit tables.

We had to do things this way because we integrate constituent information into our database from some external sources and there is a chance these records would get imported and updated with personal information again. We use alternate ids to key up to info from this external source to ensure that if the records get pulled in again it will be on the existing record that have these attributes on them personal information will be purged the next morning.
