OneRoster Mapping to 'sms' field

While playing around with OneRoster integration I'm having trouble getting a ‘SMS’ device to be sent over from Blackbaud (ie. number in blackbaud > integration via OneRoster > imported user/device).

I'm using the SKY Developer Cohort and assumed a phone type of ‘Wireless’ would map to ‘sms’ in OneRoster, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Does anyone know what field in a user record in Blackbaud maps to ‘sms’ field in OneRoster?

Hi @Tim Harris, this is a bit of a unique one but the SMS number actually pulls from your notification settings in the app. If you select your name in the upper right, then settings > notifications, the number you have listed under “Text Number” will populate that SMS field in the OneRoster export.

  • Thanks @Todd DeSchuiteneer!

So it would seem as an admin user there's no way to setup a device in Blackbaud that would translate to an sms device via OneRoster for a user other than myself? Am I understanding that correctly?

@Tim Harris yes that is correct. Because it is a messaging option and the user has to opt in to receive notifications, this number cannot be updated by the admin at this time.

So, the question of Wireless Phone vs. Notification Text number came up elsewhere too.
I posted the question to the OneRoster channel.
