Turn It In and LMS

We are experiencing some changes/problems with assignments using Turn It In. Wondering if anyone else is having difficulty. The first issue may be a communication between BlackBaud and Turn It In as the teachers are seeing a banner across the top of their assignment page after creating the assignment to “configure.” When they do this they get a message that something has gone wrong. The second issue is within Blackbaud's system. In the assignments when grading, the teachers now have a split screen and the Turn It In is half of the page (hard to see) and even when they are in one student's “area” all of the students' work is in a long list. Please help. I have many frustrated teachers.

  • @Lisa Baylor We're not experiencing the first issue you mentioned about getting an error after configuring the assignment. Do you have a screenshot of what the error says?

It is absolutely frustrating that the “Assignment Detail” page layout has changed. It seems that sometimes the Turnitin tool still uses the entire page but then sometimes it's squished into the left of two columns. While the little “widgets” seem to be movable from one column to the other, you can't just move the “Assignment Feedback” below Turnitin to get one big column. What's so strange is I've gone into the same assignment at various points and sometimes Turnitin is large and sometimes it's small….. Doesn't seem to be related to screen size as I've tried it on various sized monitors.

The one workaround we've discovered is if you zoom out, you can at least get the student's back into a list but then the text is VERY small so not great.

    Hey @Lisa Baylor -

Both of these issues should now be resolved.

We're in the process of building a Turnitin 1.3 integration, and some of the adjustments we made in anticipation of that project affected the 1.1 integration. We reverted the changes earlier this morning, so that error message should no longer be occurring and the teacher view of Turnitin should not be populating in the split view you were seeing previously.

If you're still noticing those issues however, please reach out to our Support team and we'll look into it further.
