Raiser's Edge Marketing/Email

Good afternoon, We're currently using Salesforce marketing cloud for emails but due to some issues and the expense (striving to reduce cost!), we're going to use the Raiser's Edge marketing/email function moving forward. Our tests seem to be working well, but if anyone is using this tool, let me know if there are any pain points, issues or work arounds, we should consider in our workflow. Since it's included in our RE NXT subscription, we're hoping it does the job well for us!

    We looked at this long ago and deem not good for our org for the following reasons:

    • No abiliity to email all email addresses of a constituent record
    • No ability to email from external list without first loaded into RE NXT first
    • Not Outlook Client friendly round-corner button (round-corner button will show as “rectangular” button in Outlook Client)
    • Far too basic content editing
    • Cannot edit the HTML content

    @Edward Wagner - Agree with @Alex Wong's points, adding the lack of personalization options are also a pain point. That being said, most of the clients I work will are still using Email Marketing through NXT knowing the draw-backs and finding ways to work around them where possible.

  • @Austen Brown @Alex Wong, Thank you both! We are using it for now. The lack of customization in terms of names is the biggest drawback for us! Hoping RE is able to make this upgrade. I will say, having all our lists in RE, and being able to clearly see any of our donors and advocates and what email list they are on is a huge benefit and makes our segmenting a lot easier – along with the automatic note on records when someone receives an email and the cost savings…. Our open rates and transaction rates have remained consistent with Salesforce marketing which we previously used and cost a lot more $$$.
