Free Event Shows the Word "Free" While Registering (I've clicked the box to not show it)

I am hoping for some advice on what others have done to not show the word “Free” on an event after hitting Next during active registration use. I have clicked the box to not show the column during registration, and that works perfectly. My problem is, while actively using the form and registering (as an end user would), once you click Next to add in the names of the registrants, the registration portion collapses and shows the registration type, the number registered, and the word “Free”. I don't want it to.

I have searched in the Labels tab and tried changing different options, but while actively registering a participant using the form it will collapse that section and show “Free” when adding in the names of the participants.

I am using the form for a golf tournament where sponsorship payments are being made separately via check and I only want to use the form to register the names of their players. Showing “Free” can add all kinds of confusion.

@Chelli Kluchesky I'm having this exact same issue - would love to hear from Blackbaud or any users regarding how we might be able to overcome this.

@Chelli Kluchesky - there is a check box under Form - Click to Edit if all selected fees are free

Hi @Chelli Kluchesky @Lorena Silverton, I serve as the RENXT Product Manager for Events and wanted to let you know this is currently working as designed.

We hide the fee column on the form when the option is checked, but we still note the amount (in this case Free) when we display the summary of fees selected on the form and in the confirmation email so that constituents know they have not been asked for payment.

Could you please provide feedback on how you would expect it to work?

If we were to make the amount label editable for free fees, what text would you prefer in its place?

@Kimberly Hammer For my case, I think it would be helpful to be able to change the wording. Many times showing “Free” is just fine, but in cases like this where sponsors are paying outside of the registration form, the word “Free” causes confusion. If I had the ability to change the wording I could change it to fit my needs. The other option would be to have it left off entirely, but I can also see how that option would cause confusion in some scenarios as well. So I guess having the flexibility to either change it or choose to leave it off would be optimal.
