Checklist for Advisors

Wondering if anyone might have a suggestion on how to implement this idea.

Our academic office would like to create a grade-level-specific checklist, to be checked off by the Advisor throughout the school year. For example, each 6th grader has 10 required non-academic items they are asked to complete by the end of the year. Ideally, the Advisor could mark off items as they were completed.

I looked into Diplomas/Requirements, but those are course-based and I don't want to create 30 new courses just for this purpose.

Any ideas of a function within Education Edge that allows this? The back-up solution would probably be a shared Excel doc, but not all of our Advisors are comfortable using Excel.

  • @Michael Clark If you have Enrollment Management, you could accomplish this pretty easily using student checklists.

This is a less orthodox thought, but if you like to get creative and don't have access to student checklists… As long as you're not grading advisories already, I would think that theoretically, you could create a gradebook for the advisory where each item is an “assignment.”

That's a great idea! Most of that infrastructure is already in place, too. I will definitely look into that. Thank you!
