Tax Season Webinar Follow Up

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Tax Season webinars! For anyone who missed them, you can find the recordings here:

During our webinars, we had a couple frequently asked questions. We've compiled the answers here:

How do I log in to Aatrix?

  1. Within Financial Edge NXT, navigate to Payables > Communications.
  2. Go to the 1099 forms tab.
  3. Click the ellipses next to the appropriate 1099 form and select Generate.
  4. Enter Aatrix username and password.

If you need to setup an account with Aatrix, or you forgot your password, please refer to How to request Aatrix login credentials

How do I verify my 1099 activity is correct?

  1. Run a 1099 Activity Report.
  2. Run a query for all activity over the 1099 box minimums for all vendors during the last year.
  3. Compare the amounts on the report and query to make sure all total payment amounts in the query match the sum of the 1099 box amounts for the corresponding vendor.
  4. If there are discrepancies between the 1099 Activity Report and the query above, run a query to find the invoices not marked as 1099 invoices for each 1099 vendor to identify invoices that were not marked as 1099 invoices.
  5. Any necessary corrections can then be made by adding 1099 adjustments to a vendor record.

For details on each of those steps, please see our knowledgebase article How to find and correct missing 1099 activity

Do I need to buy any paper?

No. If your database is hosted with Blackbaud, you will be using Aatrix Cloud to e-file your 1099s so you won’t need to purchase any physical form paper as there isn’t an option to print with Aatrix Cloud.

How do I make corrections?

  1. Log into Aatrix using the 1099 parameter within Financial Edge NXT.
  2. Make corrections in the 1099 preparer grid.
  3. Submit corrections using Aatrix eFile.

For details on each of those steps, please see our knowledgebase article How to correct completed 1099s in Financial Edge NXT?

Lastly, here is our Financial Edge NXT Tax Season Resource Center where you can find resources like the breakdown of the 1099 process, demos, and FAQs.
