E-Membership

Hello!

Forgive me if I am repeating previous threads, but I was wondering if anyone had implemented digital memberships and if they were a separate application or if they could potentially be compatible-say, with an app designed for the organization?

  • Hi Elizabeth,

We use eMembership by Inficare Technologies, it requires the member to download their app. Cuseo is the other player in the eMembership world, since we don't use it, I let someone else chime in on its capabilities.
  • How do you find the Inficare Technologies?  How long have your organization been using it?
  • We have been using the eMembership cards from Museum Anywhere(infiCare Technologies) since June 2019. They have been great to work with.  It has saved so much time printing and mailing cards.  We do still offer a printed membership card, and we charge a $5 fee for those who request them.  All the benefits and reciprocal information are listed in the app, so we have cut down on paperwork that we need to give to members.
  • How are you assessing the fee?  Is it part of the renewal payment?  do you have to take it over the phone when they request a printed card?

    Thanks,

  • We have it set up as an Add-On.  There's a button to click if they want a printed card.  If they check the box, the $5 is automatically added to their total.  (See image attached)

  • We'd been using MuseumAnywhere (Inficare Technologies) for a bit over 2 years now.  They've been great to work with.

We've been using MuseumAnywhere for our digital cards since July 2018 with great success. Do you know what percentage of your members end up opting for the $5.00 add on?

Our goal is to not have to print any cards (part of our green initiative and to save on staff time and production/postage costs), so we don't offer members the option the purchase a card online or at the front gate. We'll issue one (for a $5.00 fee), but only if they call in to request one. (Usually folks who self identify as not having a smart phone).

It would be great to have it available as an add on, but I'm not sure if the $5.00 charge is enough to scare off the majority of purchasers from selecting it, and thereby putting us back in the cycle of having to print and mail out lots of cards.

  • So far, we've had 14% of our members select the printed card.
  • We have been using Cuseum for digital membership cards and it has been a dream!
  • How long have you been using it for?
  • We have had them since September so not very long. It's great cause the cards go to the Apple wallet or the wallet pass app for Android. No new app to download for users and several other kid venues in our area have joined since we did so it will be easy for people to have all their cards in one place.

  • Altru has not changed their offerings but has technology solution partners that can integrate with Altru (mostly via queries/odata that I have seen). Cusuem and Museums Anywhere are both technology partners Altru works with for digital membership cards.
  • Got it. Thank you! Do you use one of those
    vendors?

  • We have been using MuseumAnywhere for about 9 months and it has been well accepted by our members.  Only about 4% have opted to pay the $3 printed card fee.  Although, we don't verbally offer it at the time of sale.  Members have to ask for it. And it isn't offered through on-line sales at all they have to come in to pay for a printed card.

We have had a few glitches but the MuseumAnywhere staff has been great to work with and responsive to past issues.  The biggest problem we have encountered is issues with member messaging.  Sometimes we will set messages to go out at a scheduled time but they don't get sent.  Or the user doesn't get a notification (even though the app is set to notify) and they can only see the message if they go looking for it in the app.  And the notification history doesn't always show our previously sent messages.

Is anyone else having this problem?
