How are solicitor goals counted in NXT

I've looked around but can't seem to find an answer although I'm sure there's probably one out there.  In NXT, the fundraiser filter in lists depend on the type of list.  A constituent list filters on the fundraiser in the constituent relationships.  A gift list filters on the fundraiser assigned to that particular gift.  What I can't find is what is included in the sum towards the goal on the work center page for each fundraiser, is it relationship coding, gift coding, or both?
