Does anyone have an idea when EMV usage will be available for Altru? All I saw was early 2020...My organization, like so many others is trying to go as touch-less as possible upon reopening and being able to use chip cards would be very helpful.


Also, does anyone have any recommendations for EMV card readers that they have used in the past but that are compatible with Blackbaud?

    According to the Blackbaud/Association of Children's Museums webinars I attended last week, the EMV solution is in testing this month with a group of early adopters.  BB should be releasing an FAQ "very soon."  


    I asked about hardware recommendations, and BB said they would be announcing them following this June test round.


    BB seems aware that Altru users are increasingly desperate for EMV, but I think much will depend on how the testing goes.  I would recommend 1) keeping an eye out for product updates and 2) having a Plan B.

    Were are planning on using BBMS and also looking to see what EMV hardware others will be using.  Contactless transactions as well as up to date credit card processing are important to us and our guests.

    We are also planning for a "touch-less" point of sale also. Or at least reducing staff involvement as much as possible for when we re-open.

    That should be in about 1 month.
