Email Address Update - Upload from Excel

We are running a social media campaign asking alumni to update their email address. Everyone who does this will have the chance to win a small door prize. The online form that was created can export the information (first and last name, email address and grad year) into an Excel spreadsheet. Is there a simple way to try and bring that information into RE NXT so we can add or update email addresses? We'd prefer not to do it one name at a time. Or, is there a better form to use or way to capture the information in the first place. If anyone has experience with this I'd appreciate your feedback. Thank you!

IMO, manual vs. import depends on how many records you are actually updating. Also, are you marking existing emails as inactive or just adding this as a new/preferred email? We limit each type of email to 1 so this wouldn't work easily for us.

I'm thinking you could export your alum data (same fields plus Constituent ID or Import ID) to excel. If you're replacing an existing email, you'll want to export the email import ID too so you can update it to the new email.

Make spreadsheet text of new info colored or rows highlighted and combine the two spreadsheets. Then you could pull the id number to the new info. You need an id number to get info on the correct record. I think you should be able then to import new emails as updates to records. You'd probably want the new email also marked as preferred. Include that field in your import.

I may be totally off but this is what I would test doing if I had thousands of updates and a solid plan for type/replacing/adding as new.

Our alum updates come in thru OLX for updates.
