Workflow for a gift from a specific constituent

I would like to set up a workflow for when a gift comes in from a specific constituent. Is this possible? I dont see a way to choose which constituent. Any help is much appreciated.

    I wonder if you set up a list with the specific constituent and last gift was yesterday or in the last 7 days to be safe if that could be a workaround? Kylee Long‍ maybe you have some thoughts?

    Thanks, Dan! Yes, I would create a List and set your criteria to look for only that constituent, and then set the gift date according to what you need.  One thing to keep in mind- a workflow can only be applied to a constituent once, at this time. So, if this constituent gives a gift tomorrow, and then another gift next month, the workflow will only be applied for the gift given tomorrow.  Does that make sense?  We designed it this way so that there was no risk of a workflow being applied multiple times to a constituent by mistake.

    I also found that I could go to that particular constituent's record and apply the workflow. This works except it applies immediately and not when the gift is made. Probably user error but I love the idea of the workflow but am still learning. Is there a recommended webinar that goes into some detail on the workflows that I could take?

    Yes! I would watch this webinar that we did last year that walks through the Actions Automation capabilities.  It covers a few use cases, how to use the functionality, and talks about the things coming soon (among them Email Automation which will be available for all clients very soon).  I hope that webinar helps!  There might even be some other training resources out there as well, but I am not positive.

    Hi Everyone - I wanted to chime in on this thread because I feel it's relevant to an issue I'm having with workflows. Similar to Beth, I would like to generate an “Acknowledgement” action for my CEO for any gifts that come in from Board Members and Annual Members. I've created the respective lists, however I can't figure how to both apply the workflow to the list while also selecting giving criteria to trigger the actions. Any ideas for how I can overlay list and criteria exclusivity in my workflow? Other work arounds? Thank you!!
