Where did Manage Enrollment go?

  • Hi all,

I am comfortable with the new Student Enrollment page -- I actually like it.   BUT, here are a few things i've been experiencing:

    1)  the page is very slow to load the student list.

    2)  after a recent system update, the feature that shows the box with the teacher name and class counts will not load --- that is something I rely on a lot, and don't like that it's not working right now.  See attached screen shot --- the green circle just blinks on and off endlessly.  I hope this can be fixed.

    3)  often when I add the class to 1st semester to then select the meeting time/block, the screen automatically pops down under the 2nd semester section.  I sometimes don't catch myself to scroll back up and end up only adding the meeting time under Semester 2 (and not Semester 1).  I find that to be annoying and a bit of a pain.

  • Hi Katie - I have experienced the same thing with only one of my school divisions.  The other school divisions save quickly.  I'm not sure what the issue is.  The one school division which is slow also has MANY schedule sets.  I have wondered if that might be the issue.  My Upper School has 7 periods and that's it and it moves quickly.  The slow division has well over 40!

Unlike you, I still prefer the old student enrollment and will miss it.  I find it much easier to do schedule changes and add late students into the system than the new enrollment method.
  • Hi Katie,

I have mixed feelings on the new Enrollment Management. Some features I like and others I don't. But, as to your comment on the bouncing green ball when trying to view the teacher and class size we are experiencing the same issue. We found that if you minimize or maximize your screen with the CTRL + or CTRL - the information appears. Not ideal but you do not need to exit the screen to see the information.

What I've also noticed is that in a block with two sections, in the past the section that was displayed was the smaller of the sections. It no longer appears to be that. I can select the section that is not displayed and the enrollment is smaller than the section begin displayed in the edit student enrollment screen.

    Thanks,

Hi Katie - I saw the exact same thing with the green circle blinking endlessly.  I have done the workaround mentioned in here for a couple of weeks now.  I opened a ticket about this on August 4th and I got word that Blackbaud was able to reproduce the error and was working on a resolution.  I followed up on August 24 on my ticket and the response I received on August 25 is that the product team is currently researching the issue to come up with a solution...and that information is critical as we have to know what room a class is meeting in as we are doing in-person learning but with extreme social distancing, so the classroom the class meets in dictates class size.  Need quick access to that.

  • I one hundred percent agree. We need the box
that shows the enrollment info fixed. I use it all the time to
determine which teacher to place a student with when I am changing
    a schedule.

  • I see that the issue with not being able to click on a section and see details of the course has been fixed with today's update! Unfortunately, now sections for all alternate courses are showing on the same line. In the attached screenshot, four different courses are showing up on the same row. Well, at least now I can click on them and see what they are! You win some, you lose some.

  • Would it be possible to add some additional features to the new "Student Enrollment" feature

==> Currently, when clicking on the student's name it brings us to "Manage" and we can see the student's list of courses and block codes, if it is not a random schedule.  However, by clicking on Manage this feature is useless for a "random" schedule.

==> Possible ADD ==> when clicking on the student's name within Student Enrollment, could we add an editable student schedule with times listed not just blocks (see screenshot). By editable, I mean the ability perhaps via a right click and a pop up menu => to add a course/ delete course/change student to a different section/withdraw a student from a course / view the course roster/print the roster.  This would be a tremendous benefit to this feature having all of these tools in one spot.  This would work well for a Random Schedule and a Block Schedule especially if the times were provided.

    Thank you

    Mary
