Roles & Their General Descriptions

Our school is currently in process of training and implementing Blackbaud. And, in the process, we're realizing how important it is to have properly assigned roles! Does anyone know where I can find a general list or roles alongside a general description for what they do or allow? I found a few articles (see below), but nothing comprehensive. Thank you!

    I asked a similar question in 2018, https://community.blackbaud.com/forums/viewtopic/300/37726. Not much has changed since then, so the responses to my post may help you: If memory serves, someone uploaded a document with a list of all the roles and cloned ones they had created. It was very helpful. Unfortunately, there are so many hidden permissions assigned to roles it is hard to determine which is the best to use and/or clone. Good luck!

    It's probably the document I wrote a few years ago so know that tasks have changed quite a bit since then. If I can ever find the time to update it, I will. Now that changes to cloned roles take effect immediately, it will be easier (and much faster) to do.

    I've longed for something like that for a while, but since you can customize permissions within each role at your school it would be a tough document to build out and generalize.  You'll likely have to spend some time in Core>Security>Roles and go into each role then select tasks to see what each role has permission(s) to do.  It's an easy place to forget about - especially just starting out with the system.  We are in our second year and I have to keep reminding myself to go in regularly.
