Birth year in Altru

Does anyone know if there is a default year that can be used in a constituent birth date field if you don't have the year?


We have donors that have given us month and day, but no year. Where do you put these?


Just putting the month and day in the field doesn't work because we end up with weird dates for the year when we do a query. 2099, 2025, 1905 are some of the years that we end up with as some sort of default.


Any ideas?

    I am also curious how people handle this. We use the birth date field and add month and day. It looks ok when we run a query but falls apart when we export to csv or Excel. In the exported data, the day becomes the year which makes it useless.

    I hear you, Kelly! I did an export for Target Analytics and finally had to remove the birth date field. What a pain.

    I've seen the year 1900 used for this purpose. I haven't tried it myself but it does kind of make sense because there wouldn't still be anyone around with that birthdate anymore, and it wouldn't cause problems like "0000" or a future date might do.
