Prospect Management - How handle Stewardship coding?

We have the prospect module and have recently revamped how we use the Prospect Status in conjunction with the Proposal Status. We decided that we should use the proposal status for things like Cultivation, Solicitation, Stewardship, etc and would use the Prospect status for where they were overall; MG Prospect, Open Proposal, MG Donor.

My question is - how are other handling those people in Stewardship? Do you leave the proposal as active so that you can link actions? Or do you code the proposal as inactive and then use only the Prospect Status? And what if you have someone that you are stewarding for one gift/proposal, but they might also have an open proposal?

We seem to have every step figured out except how to manage those people in Stewardship. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you!

    Hi Andrea - We use Proposals/Opportunities to track the entire process through Moves Management. When a donor goes into Stewardship, we update that status within the Proposal/Opportunity. When the process starts again with the next ask, we create a new Proposal/Opportunity and make the previous one inactive.

    Proposal active through the process so that actions and gifts can be linked.

    Status used as Tier 1-highly likely Tier 2-most likely, etc. Usually only 3. with the 4th and last being Never.

    All of the cultivation/stewarding steps are Action Status.

    At least that's how I've done it.
