Hi All - we recently received an email from a constituent, stating that they were unhappy at the regular automated emails asking them to update their passwords, pointing us (quite correctly) towards :

Updating password policy as detailed at the NCSC Advice for System Owners responsible for determining password policies and identity management within their organisations at https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/passwords/updating-your-approach, In particular, Tip 4 paragraph 4 - “Regular password changing harms rather than improves security”.

My question is: Can anyone confirm that the system sets the interval for password expiration/updates and if so, can it be overridden? We had no idea that this was happening and would like to be able to reply to the constituent in question.
