Does anyone know where I can find more information about the Donation Forms add-in extension point? I see that it's an option now but I can't see to find any documentation on how to develop for it. Would love to see some documented examples.

My hope is that I'd be able to create a custom field to capture additional information (with the context for the submitted donation somehow)

    Hi Kevin,

    Thank you for your interest in the Donation Form add-in. Under the “Add-ins > Getting started” area you will find multiple add-in examples. I believe the this one is the one you are looking for.

    Hi Daniel -

    Maybe I'm confused, but the example you pointed out was for Sky Entry Form SPA, not an add-in specifically made for the NXT Donation Forms (that are created in the Donation Form designer).

    And I just realized that all of the Extension points in preview (Preview) are not listed on the extension point page so now I'm wondering if there's a different page/documentation for Add-In extension points in preview?

    My apologies. Yes, that was the incorrect link. There currently is no documentation that I can point you to for that add-in, but it is in the works and should exist some time around the beginning of December.

    Just to chime in here…Dan is right, the docs for donation form extensibility are coming soon. These extension points are very new, and we've been working with a specific ISV Partner to flesh out the specifics of the implementation. So the functionality is preceded the documentation in this case, but it's coming!

    The end result of this is that we'll be able to support an add-in extensibility mechanism for NXT Donation Forms, which provides an opportunity for 3rd-party developers to extend the constituent-facing donation form experience with new/additional functionality. Backoffice users who are configuring donation forms within NXT will see add-ins show up in the toolbox, and they can be dragged to the donation form design surface (like other eligible components).

    As for the other extension points marked as “Preview”, we're working on getting them added to the documentation as well. Our extensibility framework has a lifecycle concept, and when an extension point moves into “Preview” or “Released” we generally update the docs at that time (and issue a changelog announcement). We'll get all of the docs updated asap in the beginning of December.

    Glad to see the interest (and the keen eyes noticing the additional items in the extension point dropdown list!) in this new flavor of extensibility, and be on the lookout for the docs coming soon!

    (in the meantime, if you absolutely can't wait for the docs and need to make progress coding against these extension points, let us know and we'll work to get you some info asap)
