RE: Tracking Returning Donors
How do other people track donors that have returned after 1+ years and have started to donate to your organization again?
Currently, I am mailing the Annual Anniversary Letters, which I add to the constituent's appeals tab. I can track in the constituent appeal, when they “gave."
But, I'm curious, are there other ways that people track lapsed donors who become returning donors? How do you record that on their initial returning gift?

I think what you're doing is fine. You can query on the appeal and the gift date to give you a grouping of constituents who you may be looking for. I'm not a big fan of adding a new code or attribute for a temporary status.
