Best Practices for Email Marketing with Altru for Membership Acquisition

We have been sending a survey email post-visit to our ticketed event attendees and added membership prospecting questions. This was using a sales order export of nonmembers and Survey Monkey and Constant Contact. We would like to set up a three email program post-visit that is easier to manage. Email 1) survey with link to add to list for more info, Email 2) Membership information/ value proposition, Email 3) final offer for joining.

What have tactics and programs have you seen work best with Altru for surveys and email marketing?

  • We use Altru's appeal function for membership acquisition of non-member ticket buyers. We have one email that goes out and propagate it through a constituent query based on sales order purchase. It is manually triggered each day and only takes about 1 minute from start to finish. We also have a new member welcome suite that functions in a similar capacity, but with a series of three emails.

  • Could you share what the new member suite entails for your organization?

  • Our new member welcome consists of three emails. The first one welcomes new members, answers common questions, like when will my member card(s) arrive, hours of operation, reciprocal membership, etc. . . and requests that the new members add our email to their contact list so future emails reach them. The second email is about members' most popular places to visit onsite and our story. We also invite them to watch a short video to learn more about us. The third email offers information about our online resources and includes a link to our most recent member newsletter.

  • @Karina Chappell - this is great and exactly what we want to do. So you create essentially a marketing email and set the parameters according to your constituent query? Is the first step just setting up the marketing email? Is there a process written out for how to set this up?
