Since coming back from Covid, we have decided to stay cashless. The one place this doesn't work for us is a penny smashing machine, not all customers have proper change and we have no cash to make change for them. We've considered adding a change making machine and would like to treat it as the only cash drawer that we have to count. Once a week would be often enough to check it. Is there a way to have a custom cash drawer that is dedicated to that rather than associated with a person? (I'm considering setting up a dummy account for the change machine, but wondered if there's a more elegant solution.)

    We use “dummy accounts” for our actual front desk staff. Those drawers are not associated with one person. As staff cycle through front desk to cover breaks and lunches, etc, they all use the same drawer and it works well for us. I don't see any reason why a dummy account wouldn't work for you for your penny machine - the drawer can stay open all week and then you close it when you are ready to count.
