PK-12 Education entering "other tuition payer" in Raiser's Edge

I am looking for best practices on entering those who pay student tuition, but are not the parents. I currently have an attribute entered on the payer's record, but it is difficult to link this information to the student they are paying for and the parent who is not paying the tuition.

Maybe add an attribute onto the payer, payee and parent record, but this seems like a lot of double entry. Another thought is to add a relationship to the student and parent linking the payer, but in many cases for us the payer is a grandparent so they are already linked on the student and parent record as a family member.

Development officers want to know who the payer is as well as what parents are not paying tuition.

What are y'all going and how is it working for you?

    @Brian Davies perhaps creating a relationship of Tuition Payee, might be a more visible way of seeing this information. Of course if this relationship does not exist on a record than parents are paying the tuition.
