Good Morning All,

I am trying to use the JE add in in Microsoft to import our payroll. I can export a file from our payroll database into a csv file. Does anyone know how to import the csv file into the Microsoft Addin? When I tried, I had to copy and paste over to the New Journal Entry Batch. I was hoping I would not have to manipulate the data and would just be able to point and click. I looked for videos to watch but wasn't successful. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    You do have to enter the data, either from another spreadsheet by copy / paste, or manually. Depending on your other system's format, you can copy/paste whole columns over though.

    I know exactly what you mean. Since they took away the import from the database I had to try the Excel add-in for my payroll JE. Before I just imported it and I didn't have to manipulate the file (.dat) at all. Now I had to rename it as a .csv and found that I had to copy & paste. I somehow got it to import but the description just says Excel for every line. This is such a pain to have to do this. Then I always inserted a line for my interfund accts. I hate that this adds the line at the end!?

    I agree with you. There has to be a better way to import the JE. I have to payroll and I am not looking forward to it. Copying and pasting in the Excel add-in leaves too much room for error.
