Attendance Reminder

I'm setting up the Attendance Reminder in Academics - Attendance - Notifications. I haven't been able to find any descriptions of the fields. Can some explain to me the difference for All Classes and Attendance of record only on the Notification should be sent for field someone?

  • @Boyd Reilly Do you take attendance in every class all day, or is it only taken once per day (in a homeroom or something similar) first thing in the morning? If it's the latter, you definitely want “attendance of record only”, because otherwise your teachers will be getting reminders all day for classes they don't need to take attendance in.

    If you take attendance in every class, it's up to you. Attendance of record only will only send a reminder to the class that's denoted as the attendance of record for the day. If you set it to send to every class, it will go to all classes throughout the day.

  • The difference between all classes and attendance of record is the following:
    All classes - Any class that takes attendance, regardless of if it's attendance of record or not.
    Attendance of record - This is attendance that counts towards the student's attendance totals in reporting, such as their Report Card and Transcripts.
