I need access to Tables

I can't make a note because there are no note types. It seems I don't have access to Control Panel or Tables to create the categories needed. I need instructions to give to my admin on what access I need to complete this task. Please help. I am just trying to add notes to constituent records and I can't. I have been trying to get an answer for a full week now.

@Jonetta Meadows You admin likely needs to change your security settings in database view for Notepad Security by Type. If you can have access to all notes and note types, simply unchecking the “master” setting should give you access, but if there are certain note types you do not need to see/add/edit your admin can go in and set those on a more granular level.

there are many reason why you cannot do what you need to do.

The quesetion is, if you should. If the answer is yes, then your database admin needs to give you rights to do it, and they should know the “how” as they are the one that prevented you from doing so.

Most user should not have access to add or manage to table entry, if you are a regular user and need to add a note, then ask your admin to do what is needed to give you access to add note.

It is entirely possible that your org never setup any note type, rather than you don't have access to certain note type, which then is a business need question and then a configuration question to set it up.

  • @Alex Wong Thank you for responding and I think you are correct that my org never set up any Note Types.
