Poll on how others use RE NXT Workflow

Hi all! Does anyone have examples of how they are using Workflow well in regard to donor touchpoints and stewardship? I'd love to know what's working for others as it's not a function I'm familiar with. Thank you in advance!!

    Hi Jenni,

No examples to share, but I have taken the workflow class and feel pretty familiar with the functionality available. Unfortunately for my team and the work we do, workflow is not a tool that has proved useful.

For tasks that I tried to put into workflow, I've found creating a query that shows me what I want to see and then running that on regular intervals is an easier route. For example, our org has a set query to show things like first gift over $100 to review that donor's screening or one year anniversary of first gift to send a thank you letter.

@Jenni Lien - I recommend you search the forum there are a number of posts over the years that may be of interest to you. Here are a few to start with:

@Jenni Lien I use them for a new donor Welcome Series. We base on a query with a set donation range, and select appeals, so we can do a custom series for different donor paths. We re-evaluate and create a new one each year. Lots of great posts on here to go through, I tend to keep mine simple with three email (one per week) series, and I add an action at the end of the series. That action allows us to quickly search to see who “completed” the welcome series which we can use for reporting. :)

  • Hi @Aldera Chisholm I'm just looking at how to create some mapped out donor journeys for new and current donors. Our database manager thinks it will be complicated to create these using the workflow designer and I'm wondering if you are find that that is quite labour intensive for you? I know with some of the straight donation sites like Raisely you can set up the emails to go at regular intervals after a first donation but she thinks that isn't as straightforward for this. Are you able to share how you have done that? happy to have a chat via email if that is easier.
    Thanks

    Clare
