Automating Data entry

Hello, I recently started working at a foundation and what they do is manually type donor information into RE, and sometimes this takes a lot of time to even complete 50 cheques or form in a day, so I am wondering is there a way I can scan this document and import the information into RE either as excel list or csv file. and also please how do I track decline payment from our bank account using RE. Please I need some help. Thanks

    there is no “one step” and everything is done, not by default, nor through automation.

    You will likely first have to scan the check and make it into images started in a single cloud folder.

    Then you can create an automation that reads the image files in this folder, train an AI agent that will spot the name, address, check amount, check number, etc and creates a CSV out of them, you can also just take these data, and use SKY API to find existing constituent to create the gift record directly, or put into a gift batch for review first, or create the constituent as new if not found.

    A lot is possible, just how much you willing to invest into doing it.

    You might take a look at the Marketplace to see if there are add-in applications that can do some of this work for you. These add-ins are not free, but depending on how much time they save, they may be worth it. It's also theoretically possible to build something like this yourself, but as Alex outlined, it would be an ambitious project.

    You should look into Azure AI Vision with OCR and AI - OCR implementation will decrease the workflow significantly.

  • @Nathaniel Ifeanyi We opened a “lockbox” at our bank and have our business reply mail sent there. They scan and deposit the checks and produce an excel file, which we then import.
