Scanner Recommendations

Hello--

It seems like many posts asking for scanner recommendations are from quite a few years ago, so I was wondering if people had some more up-to-date answers!

I need ticket scanners (compatible with Altru) to be used for event admissions. Most tickets will be scanned on a phone, but some paper. Our check-in desk will be outdoors (during winter) and away from our admin building, so we will be using a tablet with a hotspot to access Altru.

If you have any suggestions, it would also be great to know 1) how long you've had the scanners, 2) if they work on phones and paper, and 3) if you have found any downsides.

    Did you ever get an answer to this or find something that works for you? I'm also looking for a scanner and noticing that a lot of the posts are old.

    Hi! We use two different models of Zebra scanners that are compatible with Altru. I'd recommend the Zebra DS2208 which are wired, and the Zebra DS2278 that are wireless depending on what type of environment you are working in. Hope this helps! We've used these scanners for years and have upgraded to these latest models. They work on both phones and paper tickets.

    We've also had good success with the DS2200 series, for both digital and paper tickets
