Posting Web Batches from RE dbview to FE NXT

Hi there,

We've recently transitioned our online gift processing to RENXT and are now in the process of posting NXT (web) batches to FENXT. This process was thoroughly tested and approved by our Director of Finance, who successfully posted a test web batch from RE database view to FENXT a couple of months ago.

However, she is currently on vacation, and her backup (Finance Admin) has been tasked with posting the web batches. When attempting to post from RE database view via Admin > Post to General Ledger > Gifts tab > Include > Selected Gifts > Query name, nothing appears when she types in the web batch name.

Could anyone confirm if there’s an additional step that needs to be completed after the batch is approved in NXT, before it can be posted to the FE General Ledger from RE database view?

Alternatively, is there a new query that must be created specifically for web batches so they populate under “Post to GL” in RE?

    Is it possible this person doesn't have access to query, or that the query in question is set up so that she can't see it?

    Without knowing what your original query criteria were for the batch she's trying to locate, I can't say if it would contain batches approved in web view. But assuming you're entering all of the same data you would for gifts entered in DBV, then there's no reason the query shouldn't work in both places.

    WV batches do not currently create a query when committed/approved. If it is a requirement of your process to post by batch/query; you may need to create these queries manually.

    Agree with Ryan - without knowing your process we can't say for certain how to resolve this.

    @Ryan Hyde I have the admin access to RE and FE, but even I am unable to see the query in dbview for web batches. So, I am wondering if there’s an additional step required after a batch is approved in RENXT and before it can be posted to FENXT from the RE database view.

    I'm betting it's what Austen thought of - the web view commit process does not create a query, so you'd need to create a dynamic query that looks for web view gifts added that are not yet committed. If you're expecting to see a static query related to the specific batch you committed, that's just not a thing, at least not right now.

    This is more relevant for those using "Post Gifts" in Webview but in case its helpful to anyone now or in the future:

    When posting from RE to FE using WebView, If you normally post from RE to FE using a specific dynamic query, you will need to run that query each time before posting the batch.

    For example we use a query called "Bank Deposits". In DB View it would run on an <ask> for the post date. This doesnt happen in WebView so the query needs to be accessed and ran to pull the gifts and then the posting in WebView will work.

    "Post Gifts" on webview is pretty new and I haven't gotta to play with it yet, but I think original post is talking about posting on dbview.

    Ryan, Approved webview gift batch is definitely queryable in dbview, the issue you run into is likely related to your criteria. Please post screenshot of what your gift query looks like in criteria pane.
