Global Change to gifts that have been posted to the ledger already?

We recently set up a new fund and would like to transfer the memorial gifts given in honor of one individual into it. There are about 60 gifts, though they’ve already been posted to the ledger. Would it be possible to do a global change or do I need to make individual adjustments?

    As they are posted, it's individual adjustments from my experience.

    I think you might be able to unpost the gift and make the change, but that may cause more problems than it resolve.

    Without un-posting the gifts, you would have to do adjustments on the gifts and unless you have something like ImportOmatic, it is a manual one by one process.

    Check with you finance department whether they are making this fund change on their own end via a journal entry or they need to have the adjustments posted (if you are integrated with FE). If they are making a journal entry, you can run the un-post plug-in on these gifts, do a global change of the fund and then mark them posted again.

    Import-o-matic has the ability to create adjustment to many gifts. Otherwise, you will have to do adjustment 1 by 1. Unpost will require you to make change to GL that you probably shouldn't do.

The only other way to avoid adjusting the gifts individually is to run the unpost gifts plug-in but, as Dariel mentioned, that may create issues, especially if you are integrated with FE.
