Possible to use a reg form to update existing event participant options?

Hello,

The situation is that we have a guest for our event who is bringing 5 others with them. The host of this party did not want to use the online form for his payment etc. as he didn't know the options of each guest (menu selection, dietary restrictions, accessibility requirements etc.).

We have since been in touch, taken payment information over the phone, and entered his guest names and emails manually.

I need to connect with each of the guests to find out what they want to eat etc. and I'm wondering if it's possible to send them a form maybe with a $0 fee or something? and as long as they enter their name / email combo the same as how we put it in, then it would update their record with the participant option and mean that we wouldn't have to wait for the email reply, and enter it ourselves.

Is this possible? Does anyone have a similar situation they've found a more automated solution for? or will I likely just have to enter each preference manually once they email me back?

If this is just for 5 guests, I would recommend emailing them. It's a nicer personal touch than sending an email with a link to a form. A form would not allow you to update their meal meal preference in the event record, so you would have to update that information manually.

There is no default option in RE NXT or any Blackbaud form technology to do what you want to do.

What you want to do is only possible with a customization that involves using SKY API and custom made form, not worth it for 5 guest, but if you are talking about this is how your fundraising business works and want to have better automation/integration, then maybe it is worth the investment
