Accounts Payable - Check Printer

We’re looking to replace our current printer (HP 2035 Laser) as it’s nearing the end of its life. What printers are you using for Accounts Payable check printing, and how have they worked out for you? I realize there are issues with Web View vs. Database View printing, so I am hoping to find recommendations from others who have a setup that has worked without frequent alignment or formatting problems.

Thanks!

  • Any laser printer that can print PDF files, and can handle your check paper, should work for you. Our checks are pre-numbered, and also pre-printed with a micro-ink signature line for security. If you need to print extra security details on each check, look for a printer that has extra security features. If your checks are pre-printed with most of that already, any printer that can handle 8.5x11 check paper should be fine. You'll have to set it up to use the types of checks you have (where the stubs are, etc.), and remember to do an initial test alignment. You should be good to go after that.
