Event Ticketing

How have your organizations produced tickets for your major events including the possibility of barcoding/QR the ticket for ease of check-in can capturing their name and other data points. Through RE/NXT/OLX/Third Party??? We've printed tickets manually in the past and mailed them - the difficult part is when John Doe can't come and gives their tickets to Sam Spade. Thoughts?

I wish NXT had a bar code/QR code function. My org is trying out Ticket Tailor this year and they issue QR codes for tickets so theoretically we just have to scan those with our devices (yay for no extra equipment needed) to check people in. I believe you can also transfer tickets to another user so hopefully Person A will let you know ahead of time Person B will be attending in their place.

I'm looking for this functionality too. If you use a 3rd party like Ticket Tailor and scan people in, there is still no way to link it in to the event module to mark people ‘attended’ is there?

There isn't a built-in connector so I am in the middle of setting up an ImportOmatic process to pull registrants into the Event module in RE. I've done this before with GreaterGiving so hopefully it will work out well.

@Nilsen Septon - What is your feedback on Ticket Tailor? Did you end up using it?

My org is considering using this - is it as good as it seems to be? Are registrants marked in the events module in RE?

There is another option - AppsNXT (you'll see it in the marketplace). This is the plug in that you now have to get to replace the seating arrangement functionality that BB didn't bring over from DB view of RE. They have a QR code as well that can be emailed to attendees for check in and it brings the information directly into the NXT Event record. We are only currently using the seating functionality, but the QR code check in looks promising and I'm looking forward to trying it in the future.
