Acknowledgement Letters

My organization still runs our acknowledgement letters through RE Database view (Mail > export the list > merge in Word > print > mail out.) We're looking to streamline and be more efficient in how we do this. Are organizations still doing this or is there a better and easier way to do this?

Do not know what you mean by "streamline and efficient", but the RE Mail works fine for us.

There are a variety of threads on this. Some involve using tools like Power Automate or third-party apps like RedArc. Like @Joe Moretti mentioned, you need to be more descriptive of how you want the process to improve.

if you want to set it and forget it, Power Automate, but requires a consultant to set it up OR you learn to set it up, there are many templates that you can import and modify for your own use.

I'm not sure RedArc has the automated feature, but you can use RedArc to do letters too.

We use database view for printed receipts; mail module works just fine.

We use webview for ereceipts; not the best but it works for now.

Just checked our ReceipterPro and I really like it; if you want to move away from database view that could be a great choice, but with unified view coming next year and not knowing how receipting will work, changing now might not be worth the effort until we know what unified view can do.

I'm partial to Power Automate, just because of how robust it is. It's an end-to-end solution, meaning the only things you have to worry about are gift entry and printing letters, the automation can take care of everything in-between, including automatically sending acknowledgements to donors if an email is available. It can streamline your current process and evolve it to enable more customization on letters without adding additional work to your plate.

As Alex mentioned, there's a learning curve associated with Power Automate. It's a very good skill to have, especially as our jobs evolve and change, but I know it's not for everyone.
