Constant Contact Custom Fields from Gift Related RE Fields

When will there be the capability to have custom fields from RE gift data points as Constant Contact custom fields? Such as last gift amount, date, associated appeals, etc.

We had this option when using Smartmailchimp from SmartSync.

Thank you!

    Hello Noah,

Here are the steps to see the current mapped fields:

From NXT - Click on "Communications"
    Click "Constant Contact"
    Click "Import Constituents"
    Click on "Manage Field Mapping"
Then you can check the "Add new Field" option if you don't see the one you're looking for.

Click on the attached GIF to see a visual.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi @Noah Josephson

The integration currently supports 55 predefined constituent fields, including these key gift metrics that can be mapped to Constant Contact custom fields:

    • Latest Gift Amount & Latest Gift Date
    • First Gift Amount & First Gift Date
    • Lifetime Giving Total
    • Consecutive Years Given

Once these are mapped, you can use them for segmentation (e.g., "Send this only to donors who have given over $1,000 in their lifetime") or personalization (e.g., "We are so grateful for your recent gift of $[Latest Gift Amount]!").

    2. How to Set This Up

To see these fields, you’ll need to add them during your import setup. You can find the full list of supported fields and the step-by-step instructions in this official guide:👉 Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT to Constant Contact Field Mapping

    3. What about Appeals and Specific Gift Details?

Unlike SmartSync, which acted as a separate bridge to map complex database tables, the native integration focuses on "Constituent" data. Currently, it does not support mapping specific Appeal IDs or Funds as individual searchable fields.

The Recommended Workflow for Appeals: If you want to target people based on a specific appeal (like your "2025 Winter Gala"), the most efficient way is to use RE NXT Lists:

    1. In RE NXT: Create a "Constituent List" based on that specific Appeal or Fund.
    2. In Constant Contact: Sync that specific RE NXT List into a corresponding Constant Contact list.
    3. This ensures your audience is perfectly targeted even if the "Appeal Name" itself isn't a field on their contact profile

You can definitely get the "Last Gift" and "Lifetime Total" data you're looking for! For more granular needs—like specific gift-by-gift details—leveraging the RE NXT List sync is the best way to ensure your marketing stays precise.

  • Thanks Matthew! I'll be sure to check out the predefined constituent fields mentioned.

I'm not clear on how to go about leveraging the RENXT List Sync. We have already connected the integration. I have poked around trying to create a new segment or list in CC, but don't see anywhere we'd pull a list from RE within the portal.

Am I missing something or is this done via exporting an Excel list and uploading them manually?

  • I have also consulted the table of custom fields available from the article you linked. There are many which should be automatically mapped which currently do not appear in our list of available custom fields.

If you have recommendations that would be great. I can also reach out to support.
