RE Database View to RE NXT - Acknowledgement/Mailing Templates

We're in the beginnings stages of transitioning over to RE NXT after solely using Database for any sort of donor data. In the Database view, we can go to Config > Letters > and edit and add letter template names, is this a thing in NXT? Majority of our acknowledgement letters are hardcopy, as that is what works best for our donors. I also noticed that NXT does not have have the Mail feature to export addresses/mailing lists, has there been any updates on this too? There was talk that it was going to be added soon.

NXT is not built for mailing any type of communication out from it natively. There are third party marketplace solutions to do this or utilizing the Microsoft connector to create your own in Microsoft Power Platform if you use that at your organization.

I know many more people familiar with that third party ecosystem will chime in here with recommendations and that will be the easier route if you don't have a person who is versed in the Power Automate world and has time to spend creating that.

It's funny to come across this today — I had a discussion about just this with our team this morning. We're working on a change management plan as we respond to the Unified View project and this came up as necessary to address.

The November 2025 product update briefing noted that this is on Blackbaud's radar, and something is supposed to come in the first half of this year, to be called Gift Communication. Not a lot of details yet, but they mentioned that it might leverage the changes to query/single row query rather than recreating the RE7 Mail module.

This definitely could have changed, but I helped onboard a new RE client over the summer. When I asked the Blackbaud implementation team about the plans for print acknowledgement letters, they said "Red Arc's LetterBox is the future". I took that to mean Blackbaud is not planning to move print acknowledgement functionality to webview, or investment time right now on further development of the current receipt / acknowledgement options that are in webview.

Again, that could be wrong and I strongly suggest adding your thoughts in the idea bank. Thanks to Suzie for the link to an idea that is already posted!
