Query output Relation Contact Salutation

Hi,

I'm new to queries.

I'm working exclusively in RE:NXT. I'm visually impaired and require the ability to enlarge the font that the web front end provides.

We're trying to send thank you notes to businesses who have donate items to our upcoming silent auction.

I created a query that finds at gifts-in-kind we received our upcoming auction. It is a copy of a previous query I created earlier this year. In the output section, I have the gift amount, gift type and then the contact information for the donation contact from the donating organization. I have first name, last name and address information. I forgot to put in the salutation. I can't seem to find the specific output criteria that is connected to the contact first name and contact last name so I can also add the salutation.

So for example, the output would read

Organization Name Gift Amount Gift Type Relation Contact First Name Relation contact Last Name

Joe's Toy Shop $50 Gift-In-Kind Joseph Doe

I need to insert the column between Gift-in-kind and Joseph that says Mr.

In the search criteria, I'm using Relationship type = Donation contact.

Can you help me find the associated field I'm looking for?

Thanks!

One issue is to normally find that you need to do an Export with your query attached to it, but there is really no export function in RE NXT yet. And you cannot get to that in a relationship query. You will Probably need to create a constituent query in RE NXT as opposed to a relationship query. Then you will see what you are looking for in relationships/contacts/ Primary Addressee/Salutation. Hope this helps. The problem with dealing with two different databases, RE Database View and RE NXT, where it just doesn't match up.

  • apologies if i am not understanding correctly but are you looking for the "Title 1" field? that would include the constituent prefixes. I do see that field available on NXT query editor

Constituent Query > Relationships > Contacts > Addressees/Salutations are available.

If you do not use Addressee/salutation on the contact record (constituent or non-constituent), then just output the Title 1 field from Relationships > Contacts > Title 1

Since you are using Query, there is a chance for duplicate rows due to 1-to-many relationship field that is being filter/output/sorted by. So for example, if a donating organization has 2 contact person, you will get 2 rows per gift-in-kind gift record.
