Batch Happens: High-Speed Gift Entry in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT®

When I click to edit a gift batch that has come through our merchant services, I can no longer change the gift type from one-time to other. We do tickets sales through our merchant services and I do not want these charges to come through when I do my tax statements at the end of the year. Unfortunately we do have some donations that go to the same fund/project so I can't just filter that project out. I used to be able to do this, not sure why it has changed.

In database batch entry, we have access to the Gift Note fields. We use these instead of custom fields when it comes to InKind entry. It would be helpful to have access to gift note entry both within the web batch grid, and in NXT gift records themselves. Unless I'm missing it, it appears as if gift notes can only be entered via the database view.

If you can file a bug for this one, we can take a closer look.

There is a technical explanation for this which @Anthony Gallo can explain. My understanding is that in the future we'll have the ability to sort batches by different fields - similar to how we can sort a batch in DBV.

I know it is frustrating that it sorts rather than maintaining the order in which you entered it. But once we get the ability to sort it upon opening it again that should help!

This is happening due to the grid sending the data to our saving service and some gifts take longer than other dues to how complex they are, then the gifts get sent back potentially in a different order. We have plans to address this with an autosave function that will save the gifts one by one as you exit the row. We are also planning to bring sort functionality to the batch. Still TBD on timing for those but hopefully that helps.
