Adding a countdown timer in email messages?

Curious if anyone has included a countdown timer in your email messages. If so, would you be willing to share how you did it?

Hi we use a countdown timer that is placed in a content part and then adjust the date to reflect the days until our giving day. Please find this code to place in the part/preview/source of the new part.
