Hi all,

To keep with the times, I had a chance to explore Chatbot GPT over the past week and was thinking of ways to use it for the community. So far, I've asked it to come up with some discussions that are fun, easy going, and interactive. Here's the first question from Chatbot!

  1. What is your favorite restaurant or recipe? Why do you love it?

Not only am I interested in hearing your answers because we LOVE talking about food, but I'm also interested to hear how you've used Chatbot or AI recently in your personal life or job? One of my team members mentioned they have AI generate a menu for the week using a set of ingredients! I'm intrigued. :)

    @Crystal Bruce I like making ramen (noodle soup to my kids) because everyone in the house will eat it with minimal complaining, and it's a great way to use veggies in the fridge!

    I LOVE the idea of using AI to make a menu based on ingredients…that's something I have been wanting to access for years! If I can add dietary/ingredient restrictions as well, I am totally sold.

    Chinese Food - I like buffets because I have difficulty deciding on just one menu item. I love a gallon of duck sauce for my egg roll.

    I have never made homemade ramen noodle but that would be amazing. Plus why didn't I hear about using AI to build my meal because I never know what to make with my ingredients.

    My favorite recipe currently is for Strawberry Cream Cheese banana bread. It makes 2 loaves and I can use whatever fruit I have in the house. I have not tried AI to help with menu items but would be interested as I always look at what I have and try to find recipe's to use the ingredients.

    My favorite restaurant lately has been a little Italian place next to my house and my go to order is definitely the chicken parm sandwich.

    @Crystal Bruce My fave restaurant is Fogo de Chao. I am a true meat lover, and the endless servings make the foodie in me very happy!

    I have used AI to help me brainstorm ideas for social media posts and refresh captions. It's been a fun yet somewhat imperfect tool for getting my creative juices flowing!

    @Crystal Bruce It's always a pleasure to discuss food and how we can utilize AI in our daily lives. My absolute favorite restaurant is a pizza establishment called Zachary's, located in Berkeley, California. They specialize in Chicago-style pizza, and I must say, their deep-dish pizza is the closest I've found to the genuine taste of Chicago. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend giving it a try!

    As for my experience with AI (ChatGPT), One of the most recent ways I've utilized it is for translating documents between English and Spanish, and vice versa. While it provides a great starting point, I do make additional edits to ensure accuracy and context. It's a handy tool that has saved me time on various tasks. Bon appétit! ?

    Ah – I'm the person who likes to discuss existential stuff. I recently chatted with Bard (Google's AI). I proposed to it that humanity will always be essential to the existence of AI because humans are the original content producers that AI simply curates. It agreed. We discussed its potential source biases and whether it weights peer-reviewed sources over blog posts in its info mining. I made it provide arguments about how AI is a benefit and also a detriment to human productivity. Then, just for fun, I had it write me a poem and we talked about rhyme and meter patterns. Its poetry is not masterful by any means, but it does a surprisingly "adequate" job. ?

    As far as recipes, using AI is an interesting idea that would speed up google searches. Personally, I rarely use recipes though. When you've done enough cooking, you know from texture if your batter is right, and you know what seasonings mix well together. I only look up recipes if it's a new ingredient I've never cooked with before, like savory or saffron.
