Blackbaud CRM and BBIS SP22 Release Delayed

Published
The release of Blackbaud CRM 4.0 Services Pack 22, previously scheduled for October 31st, has been rescheduled for the week of December 2nd.

Our development team recently became aware that some online donor actions may result in the incomplete committal of processed payments to recent releases of Blackbaud Internet Solutions.  Online donor activities that may prevent complete committal of processed payments include abruptly closing browser tabs or Blackbaud Checkout pop-up windows after making a payment.

In rare circumstances, it is possible a donor’s credit card would successfully charge and Blackbaud Internet Solutions would not create a transaction on the donor’s record, requiring the organization to reconcile the issue by manually entering the transaction.   In an extreme scenario the transaction might not be captured, or a payment processed. This issue has been found to exist in Blackbaud Internet Solutions Service Packs 20 and 21.

To address this issue, our development team will take time to update Blackbaud Internet Solutions Service Pack 22 to reduce the risk of payments failing to process due to online donors prematurely closing their browser or Blackbaud Checkout popup. For customers who have already adopted Service Pack 21, we plan to release a Hotfix for Blackbaud Internet Solutions Service Pack 21 that will remedy this issue the week of November 18th
