Like Nonprofit Intelligence? Hat Tip to the Early Adopters!

With its rich analysis and visualizations, it's easy to gauge your performance both at-a-glance and as a deeper dive into your data. The analysis features you use today were developed in no small part thanks to people like you — working at organizations like yours — who offered to test drive early versions of Nonprofit Intelligence in an Early Adopter Program (EAP). Throughout the EAP, participants provided awesome feedback through dozens of Discovery sessions and an active Community forum (and hopefully got some nice Champion points along the way!). Thanks to this close collaboration, we were able to quickly identify what worked well (and what to enhance) to ensure Nonprofit Intelligence best meets your needs. Several features you see today  — and some still in development — are the direct result of that amazing partnership.

To help clarify the calculations, information about which gift types are included in the number-crunching is now more easily accessible in the in-product Help and Community blog, and we're continuing to explore ways to better communicate each metric's formula. (And better yet, in the not-so-distant future, your organization will be able to customize the default formulas to match how you calculate your giving totals!)

Campaign, fund, or appeal analysis for a specific period of time. Have campaign, fund, or appeal that you use on an ongoing basis but want to analyze its performance during only the previous quarter or current fiscal year? Based on feedback during EAP, you're not alone, and that's why — by popular demand — you can now filter the metrics on the record of a campaign, fund, or appeal to a specific timeframe, such as Last quarter or This fiscal year!

In addition to how a total was calculated, many EAP participants wanted to know exactly which records were included in its calculation. To dive deeper into the analysis, you can now select a metric or total to view a list of the records — such as the gifts, donors, or actions — it includes. For even deeper analysis, you can also select Create list to open that list in Lists, where you can better manage its columns and filters and save it for later reference in the web view or database view.

PDFs of analytics. While you can use Raiser's Edge NXT on your phone or tablet to view the latest analytics anytime from anywhere, several early adopters expressed the need to print out a metric for offline or historical reference. Hence, you can now download and save  metrics in Analyze as a printable PDF. You can also choose to automatically receive a PDF of the metrics as an email on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, such as to track or share snapshots of your performance over time.

Those are just a few of the Nonprofit Intelligence features borne of the great collaboration with early adopters, with several other enhancements underway! For example, look for these on the horizon (and others just beyond), based on EAP feedback:
  • Clarification of when analytics were last updated
  • Consistent donor lifecycle statuses between tags and metrics
  • Additional analysis of key donor lifecycle metrics (and an updated lifecyle in general!)
  • Date filters for opportunitites, with funding amount comparision over time
  • Ability to view IDs for campaigns, funds, and appeals, in addition to their descriptions
Thanks again to all the early adopters who helped us learn and improve as we developed Nonprofit Intelligence! Your amazing insight and input made these features what they are today. As Nonprofit Intelligence continues to evolve, don't hesitate — early adopter or otherwise! — to provide feedback in the Community forum and share your ideas for new features or enhancements!
