What's New(er): Updated Donor Lifecycle, Now Featuring At Risk Donors!

Published
donor lifecycleIn an additional special release this week, Raiser's Edge NXT now features an updated donor lifecycle! As previously discussed, this new lifecycle better reflects donor attrition — with an additional At-risk status and an adjusted timeline for your Lapsing, Lapsed, and Lost donors — based on your feedback!
  • At-risk donors haven't given in 12-15 months. (Previously, those donors were marked as Lapsing.)
  • Lapsing donors haven't given in 15-24 months. (Previously, those were your Lapsed donors.)
  • Lapsed donors have no gifts in the past 24-60 months. (Previously, donors were Lost after a two-year gap in giving.)
  • Lost donors haven't given in 60 months (or five years, as opposed to the previous two-year window for lost donors).
As with the previous donor lifecycle, you can track these statuses with tags on constituent records and lists, and with the lifecycle metrics in Analyze. Note that any previously saved constituent lists that include Tagged with filters may require some adjustments:
  • Saved lists filtered to include tags of Lapsing or Lapsed may now include donors marked as At-risk or Lapsing, respectively.
  • Saved lists saved with a Tagged with filter of Lost may now include both Lapsed and Lost donors.
For details about how to analyze the donor lifecycle and its statuses, see the Donor Lifecycle Analysis Help. For suggestions and best practices to help keep your donors engaged and bring those who've slipped away back into the fold, check out the Donor Attrition Help and Donor Acquisition and Retention Help.
